Allie Davison – 2011 Summer Student

RCFM is pleased to welcome our second student for the 2011 Summer Season from the Douglas College Print Futures Program, Allie Davison.

Says Allie:

My name is Allie Davison, I’m 22 and I’m in the Print Futures: Professional Writing program at Douglas College. I grew up in Burnaby, moved to Coquitlam in my teens but now I’m living back in Burnaby with two of my best friends. We are planning to get a fish.

After high school and before college I was in the youth volunteer program Katimavik. With Katimavik I traveled to Quebec, Ontario and PEI where volunteered a various non-profit organizations.

I have been in school at Douglas for the last two years, before Print Futures took a whole bunch of English and Creative writing classes before deciding that I wanted to write as a career.

When I’m not working or in school, I like to read, write and cook & bake. I also love going to concerts with my friends. I love to travel and wish I could do it more.

I’m really excited about spending the summer working and writing for the Farmers Market. Not only do I love going to the markets, but I think this will be an excellent way to learn more about the inner workings of how the markets operate.
