Ovenmonkey Bakery
Ovenmonkey was founded by Lorant Jakab and Dora Kovacs. Both are originally from Hungary and wanted to bring their favorite Hungarian food, Langos, to their new home.
Langos are flat bread made with flour, yeast, salt and water. They are deep fried on site, and can be topped a number of delicious choices. You can choose from a simple Hot Lango, sprinkled with salt, or go all out with a bacon, mashed potato and green onion Langos. There are butter chicken Langos and icing sugar Langos. With such a wide variety there is sure to be something for everyone!
Ovenmonkey visits both farmers markets and festivals in the Metro Vancouver area. This summer they’ll be at the Hyack Fraser Festival, Bass Coast Outdoor Music Festival, the Coquitlam Blue Mountain Music Festival, the New Westminster Summerfest, the New Westminster Quayside Festival and the Taste of the Tri-Cities festival. As for Farmer’s Markets, Ovenmonkey will be at the Stevenston Farmers Market, the Coquitlam Farmers Market and the Royal City Farmers Market.
