Winter Market Announcement

Pottery by Black Bamboo Artisans

We are very excited to announce that this year’s winter market will take place at River Market. We feel the vision of River Market complements what we do perfectly. The farmers’ market will be on the first Saturday of the month from 10-2 and we invite you to join us to celebrate local food and crafts in the beautiful setting of River Market. All of your favourite vendors plus room for some new faces!

We’ll be posting the vendor application in the next week or so, and we encourage everyone to mark their calendars for November 5, December 3, January 7, February 4, March 3, and April 7. We can’t wait to see everyone in this new setting.

Spread the word! RCFM Winter Market at River Market, first Saturday of the month, November to April!

(PS: Four more summer markets to go! Go sunshine, go!)

That’s great that the winter market has moved but how much will we have to pay for parking? That will stop a lot of people from going. I enjoy both markets and think it is a great idea for New Westminster.

Hi Cynthia! Good points. Parking is always a challenge at most community events. Many of the survey respondents actually told us the parking around the church hall wasn’t very good or desirable. River Market does have two surface lots – both are $1.50 for two hours and there are also a few free 15 minute parking spaces, as well as free handicapped accessible parking. We have also sent in our request to the Downtown Waterfront Parkade Commission to once again use the downtown waterfront parkade for free as a gift in kind from the city. They meet again at the end of the month and I’ll post the results of that decision when it comes.

Where is River Market? Is the space bigger and will there will more vendors than could fit in the church? It would be great if you posted a map on this site or how one can get there by car, bus, train etc. I am looking forward to the winter market but will certainly miss the summer market.
